The Annual General Meeting of the CityPlace Residents’ Association (Ontario Corporation Number 1893476) will be held at the Toronto Public Library, Fort York Branch, 190 Fort York Blvd Toronto, Ontario, on Sunday, November 24th, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 1:00 p.m.

It is important for the vibrancy of CityPlace that the CityPlace Residents Association is able to attract and retain a pool of skilled volunteers who donate their time, experience and expertise to fill upcoming board vacancies at the CPRA to sustain a successful and vibrant community. For those interested in running for the Board of Directors, please submit a brief biography by Monday, October 7th. Directors must be residents of CityPlace.

Time commitment is around 2-4 hours monthly.

The 9 member board include an executive team consisting of President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Ideally suited for residents who are eager to demonstrate a leadership role in the community with time commitment and relevant combination of experience, expertise and leadership/management skill sets in some of the following areas: planning and development issues; maintain CPRA social media presence, platforms and tools (moderate community conversations on Facebook, add content to Twitter, Update Website, Instagram, LinkedIn); governance (review and revise bylaws, keep minutes of meetings; organize meetings as secretary); parks, pets and people; poverty reduction and homelessness lens (Liaison to the Respite Centre and Women’s Shelter near CityPlace); finance (fundraise and maintain budget and finances for the CPRA as treasurer); active transportation; community engagement and social outreach; events activation; maintain partnerships and networks with neighbouring residents association, BIA and local community partners; liaise with elected representatives; provide subject matter expertise and invited comments to the media on neighbourhood issues of compelling importance; identify community needs and action plans; foster diversity and inclusion for different perspectives and build trust
