CPRA Backpack for Learning School Supplies Drive and Distribution

CPRA Backpack for Learning School Supplies Drive and Distribution

The CityPlace Residents’ Association Backpack for Learning School Supplies Drive and distribution received good news that a major donor has contributed backpacks and school supplies including pencils, notebooks, looseleaf paper, erasers, pencils, pens, pencil crayons, pencil cases and rulers. TELUS has generously donated 150 backpacks with school supplies for distribution to the families that have applied.

This initiative which have been gathering momentum will assist some of our neighbours to be able to send their children to school with the learning tools and materials needed to learn and succeed at school, and complete homework after school. Parent applied from most buildings in CityPlace, but the majority are from the TCHC buildings.

We are hosting a CityPlace Kidsfest on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm at Canoe Landing Park, 95 Fort York Blvd, Toronto. At this event, from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm, we will be distributing the backpacks and school supplies to parents and families who have signed up, which will ensure that the children and families experience a positive back to school experience.

Who can deny that Ontario squash in all its many shapes and colors can make the best and heartiest vegetable soup on the planet? Not I. That’s why I thoroughly enjoyed preparing and partaking in more delicious soup the last two weeks than I’ve had all year! Wow. Thanks to the Good Food Box.

With fun names like ‘Sweet Dumpling Squash’ and ‘Delicata Squash’ they are entertaining as well as nutritious: Here’s a link that names many of the different kinds of winter squash for your personal edification: http://www.epicurious.com/archive/seasonalcooking/farmtotable/visual-guide-winter-squash

As always, thanks for supporting the Good Food Box program.
Best Regards,
Michele
